Pretty cool campground. You have to be a member or something to get cabins here. The cabins are cabins. Nothing too great, but good enough for camping at a campground. The outside pool was okay. Looked pretty murky. They have mini golf, horse stuff, tennis court and sand volleyball court. The horse stuff seemed a bit overpriced. They give a member discount, but even that seemed a bit much for one little ride around the arena. I think it was $10. I liked that the little stores took credit cards. That is super helpful. I also appreciate that one of the stores does pizza and subs and ice cream. It also has a lot of stuff that you may have forgotten to pack and/or need replenishments for, like ice, ketchup, etc. I have Verizon for cell phone service and it was pretty limited. Not too big of a deal if you're getting back to nature, but kind of stinks if it rains and you're trying to browse the web. They do have cable TV in the cabins.
Be careful having your kids there. In the "adventure area", there were open outlets and outlets without covers. You could see the hot wire on the one with broken cover. Unbreakable outlet covers would go a long way...
Nice camping. A number of site are awkwardly laid out. Sewer and ele are opposite side and opposite end of your typical camper. But there are some very nice sites.
Lot of activities and fun fishing.
Two pools one indoors. Nice arcade and game room.
It’s been an off/on relationship with this place. This is where my family toured and signed up. I’ve gone and stayed a few times and I can’t say I’ve felt welcomed any time I’ve checked in. Can’t say why either just always felt like something was off or I didn’t belong there. Once I stayed in a dirty cabin. They came to clean it AFTER we checked in. Then the heater stopped working in the middle of winter. They came to “fix” it and told me I couldn’t put it up higher than 70°. It was freezing in the cabin! The next day it was so cold we were scared to leave the bed. Inside the cabin was in the 40s. They came back out that evening and said we had to move cabins if we wanted heat.
If you book a hot tub cabin, make sure it’s an actual hot tub before confirming. Jacuzzi tub and hot tub are not the same. Summer time is probably just a better time to go. If you sign up with them, you’ll be stuck with them for the rest of your life. I believe your children will then be stuck with them as well. Monthly dues and fees AND you still gotta pay to stay. :) beware.
I've been coming here for 20-plus years. When it was called Bucket Hill..then 🤔 Grand Haven.. now RFR❤️.. I love this place so much that I had the opportunity to buy into A permanent lot at Rocky point. So many amenities to enjoy lots of great people lots of great staff at RFR.. always smiles on everyone's faces and always a wave. Great place! 😁
We became members 3 years ago we go down at least 4 times a year. Customer service is outstanding our only problem is the maintence fees and thier beds the beds are very very uncormfortable get back aches muscle sorness my wife has a disability we dont get much sleep down there if they could improve on the beds with all the money they get in maintenance fees would be outstanding place to go to
Good luck with this run down excuse for a campground. We scheduled a “tour” which basically involved them trying to bully us into a membership. We recently bought a camper with an offer of 21 days of free camping. We were never showed any RV sites, only dirty run down cabins that we have no interest in renting. They kept trying to sell us a membership for $16,000 plus tons of fees that we had no interest in. Our tour guide Tyler went as far as saying if we continue to camp in state and national parks we would get murdered by a serial killer. Not even joking. When we told him no many many times to the membership, he got angry with us and was incredibly rude. It’s also important to note that Travel Resorts of America who they are affiliated with and selling memberships for is currently part of a class action lawsuit for shady business practices and stealing unauthorized funds. Save yourself the trip if you’re offered 21 days of free camping when you buy a camper. It’s a huge scam.
It's a nice getaway for peace and quiet but we have been coming here 16 years and nothing much has changed. Thier prices have went through the roof and you pay maintenance fees I have no idea where that money goes because they ain't fixing much. We are actually getting ready to sell our membership. Golf carts are $70 for 24 hours and you are sleeping half of that time, they were $30 a couple years ago. They are getting very money hungry
